Economic evaluation of the Dr. Bart app in people with knee and/or hip osteoarthritis

Purpose: To evaluate the cost-utility and cost-effectiveness of Dr. Bart app compared to usual care in people with knee/hip OA, applying a health payer perspective. Methods: This economic evaluation was conducted alongside 6-month randomized controlled trial, involving 427 participants. The dr. is stand-alone eHealth application which invites users select pre-formulated goals (i.e. “tiny habits”) triggers healthier lifestyle. Self-reported outcome measures were costs, quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) according EuroQol (EQ-5D-3L), Visual Analogue Scale (QALY-VAS), five subscales KOOS/HOOS. Missing data multiply imputed bootstrapping used estimate statistical uncertainty. Results: Mean age participants 62.1(SD 7.3) years, majority being female(72%) (Table 1). Health costs lower for intervention group(€-22 (95% CI: -36; -3)) 2). For QALY QALY-VAS, probability cost-effective 0.71 0.67 at willingness pay(WTP) €10.000 0.64 0.56 WTP €80.000, respectively. symptoms, pain, ADL, that >0.82 activities quality <0.40, regardless WTPs.
